The PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) Specialty is one of the most enjoyable specialities to complete. DPVs, previously only used by technical divers and the military, are rapidly gaining popularity in recreational diving. DPVs provide an exciting way to cover a large amount of underwater territory in a short period of time. They reduce the diver's need to exert himself by kicking or finning but require mastery in manoeuvring a DPV since they are directly related to barotraumas if the diver fails to ascend or descend under a power machine.
